Voyager Portal is a demurrage and operations management platform for the bulk shipping industry, founded in 2018 by Matthew Costello and Bret Smart in Houston, Texas. The platform provides charterers — including commodity traders and manufacturers in oil and gas, chemicals, agriculture, mining, and project cargo sectors — with automation, integration, and visibility across the entire bulk cargo voyage and claims management lifecycle. Voyager's mission is to replace the email and spreadsheet-based workflows that characterize most bulk shipping operations with a unified system for predicting and optimizing shipping costs. The company operates offices in Houston (HQ), London, and Joinville, Brazil, and has built an international remote-first team that has visited over 30 countries. Investors include Motion Ventures, Phaze Ventures, and ScOp Venture Capital.
