Uravu Labs is a Bengaluru-based deep-tech water company founded in 2019 that has developed a proprietary atmospheric water generation system called FromAir®, which uses liquid desiccants (hygroscopic salts) to absorb moisture from ambient air and then applies low-grade waste heat to release and collect purified drinking water. The company's modular, decentralised technology operates 24/7 without reliance on groundwater and is designed to work across a wide range of climate conditions, with its first-of-a-kind 4,000-litre-per-day plant live in Bengaluru. Uravu's roadmap spans consumer packaged beverages (2023), commercial on-site water (2025), and large-scale industrial water plants (2027), targeting the growing global water scarcity crisis where demand is projected to exceed supply by 40% by 2030. The company is also exploring integration with data center waste heat as a dual-benefit cooling and water production solution.
