UniversityNow (uNow) was a San Francisco-based education technology company founded in 2010 with a mission to make affordable, high-quality post-secondary education available to anyone. The company operated two self-paced online universities offering Associate's, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees using a peer-to-peer learning model and adaptive learning technology. UniversityNow kept tuition extremely low by replacing traditional lecture halls with competency-based, cloud-delivered coursework. Penn Foster Education Group acquired UniversityNow's competency-based learning platform in December 2015.
