Tred was a peer-to-peer online marketplace for buying and selling used cars, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. The platform handled the entire transaction end-to-end — including vehicle inspection, test drive logistics, paperwork, and financing — allowing private sellers to get dealer-level support while buyers gained confidence through inspections and warranties. Tred raised $43 million in total funding and was later acquired by Cox Automotive, with the service rebranded as Autotrader's Private Seller Exchange (PSX), where it continued to offer the same concierge-style private-party car transaction model under the Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book umbrella.
