Transplace was a technology-enabled transportation and logistics network founded in 2000 from the merger of non-asset-based logistics units of six major truckload carriers. Before its acquisition, the company offered transportation management, intermodal brokerage, and SaaS-based transportation management software to manufacturers, retailers, and chemical and consumer packaged goods companies, powering more than $11 billion in freight under management for 62,000 platform users. Uber Freight acquired Transplace from TPG Capital for $2.25 billion in a deal completed in November 2021, folding its network into the Uber Freight Platform.
