Tidelift

Tidelift was founded in 2017 with a mission to make open source work better for everyone. The company built a subscription platform that connects enterprise development teams with the maintainers of the open-source packages they depend on, funding maintainers to apply security patches, ensure license compliance, and provide maintenance assurances. Tidelift's managed open source subscription gave organizations a software bill of materials (SBOM) with security, licensing, and maintenance guarantees across their entire open-source dependency graph — all backed by direct agreements with upstream maintainers. Tidelift was acquired by Sonar (SonarSource) and now operates as part of Sonar's software composition analysis (SCA) capabilities within the SonarQube platform.
