Tapas (formerly Tapastic) is a digital comics and web novel platform founded in 2012 by Chang Kim and Young-Jun Jang in San Francisco. Originally launched as Comic Panda, the platform enables independent creators to publish and monetize serialized webcomics and web novels for a global audience. In May 2021, South Korean company Kakao Entertainment acquired Tapas Media for $510 million. The platform hosts hundreds of thousands of series across genres, offering both free and premium content with an ink-based micropayment system.
