TAL Education Group

TAL Education Group is a Beijing-based education company founded in 2003 by Zhang Bangxin as Xueersi and listed on the NYSE (ticker TAL) since its $120 million IPO in October 2010. Originally one of China's largest K-12 after-school tutoring providers, it exited for-profit academic tutoring for compulsory-education grades after China's July 2021 'double reduction' policy and rebuilt around enrichment learning programs, learning-content solutions, and AI-powered learning devices, including the Xueersi learning machine line and the newer Xbook. Net revenue reached $2.25 billion in the fiscal year ended February 2025 and $3.01 billion in fiscal 2026, up roughly 34% year over year, with learning devices among its fastest-growing lines. The group employed about 23,000 people as of February 2025.
