SynSen

SynSense is a world-leading neuromorphic intelligence company dedicated to developing core chips for next-generation human-machine interfaces (HCI) and brain-computer interfaces (BCI). Founded in March 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland by Dr. Ning Qiao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Prof. Giacomo Indiveri of the Institute of Neuroinformatics (INI) at ETH Zurich/University of Zurich, SynSense builds on two decades of pioneering neuromorphic computing research from Swiss academia. The company's neuromorphic processors deliver ultra-low-power, ultra-low-latency AI inference — consuming 100 to 1,000 times less power than conventional chips and processing data 10 to 100 times faster. SynSense relocated its headquarters to China in April 2020 and operates chip R&D centers in Shanghai and Chengdu. The company follows a dual-path strategy: optimizing human-world interactions through HCI technologies and pioneering human-machine integration via BCI technologies. Investors include Huawei, Samsung, Merck, Baidu Ventures, and CETHIK.
