SynapDx was a biotechnology company focused on developing blood-based diagnostic tests for the early detection of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The company's proprietary platform used RNA-sequencing technology to evaluate gene expression levels and identify specific autism-related biological markers in a standard blood draw, enabling earlier and more objective screening compared to behavioral assessment alone. SynapDx collaborated with ASD experts at leading academic and clinical institutions to validate its approach. The company raised approximately $32.7 million across five funding rounds from investors including Google Ventures, North Bridge Venture Partners, General Catalyst Partners, LabCorp, Windham Venture Partners, Casdin Capital, Foundation Medical Partners, and The Kraft Group. SynapDx was ultimately deadpooled after its Series C in 2013, before achieving commercial launch.
