Sukuma

Sukuma Commodities Limited is a fully licensed Ugandan coffee processing and exporting company with a collective 50 years of heritage in coffee farming. The company sources both Robusta and Arabica green coffee beans from a network of over 2,300 smallholder farmers across Uganda's major coffee-growing regions. Sukuma provides input financing and training in good agricultural practices to its partner farmers, then exports processed green beans to major buyers in European markets including Italy, the Netherlands, and Germany. Its operations span environmentally sustainable coffee farming, wet and dry milling processing, and direct export. Backed by Sahel Capital and French development finance institution Proparco, Sukuma has grown export volumes by over 60% since 2024, and is investing in traceability and farmer registration systems to meet EU deforestation regulation requirements.
