straya Co. is a Tokyo-based B2B SaaS startup founded in June 2023 that provides KUMOCAN (くもかん), a cloud-based DX platform purpose-built for Japan's security guard industry. The platform digitizes and centralizes core operations — including shift scheduling, attendance tracking, deployment management, payroll, and billing — replacing paper and whiteboard-based workflows that plague the sector. Beyond operational efficiency, straya layers AI-driven capabilities on top of accumulated field data, including turnover prediction models and automated guard placement, helping security companies retain staff and reduce the chronic labor shortages that afflict a ¥3.5 trillion industry employing approximately 590,000 workers.
