StepChange (stepchange.earth) is a climate-tech software platform functioning as an ERP-style system of record for corporate sustainability, spanning three areas: Carbon Management (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions accounting), ESG Intelligence (operational ESG and vendor/supply-chain management), and Climate & Nature Risk assessment, plus sustainable-finance and advisory services. It is led by co-founders Ankit Jain (CEO, formerly CEO of Ola Electric, ex-McKinsey/Accel, IIT Bombay + MIT Sloan) and Dr. Sidhant Pai (Chief Science Officer, PhD in Atmospheric Modeling from MIT, ex-Columbia Climate School postdoc). The company serves large enterprises and financial institutions in India — including State Bank of India, Mahindra Group, Brigade Group, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank — helping them embed ESG metrics and climate-risk data into commercial decisions. StepChange runs on a team of 40+ engineers, scientists, and domain experts and has raised approximately $5.55M across multiple rounds from investors including GFC, Beenext, and Speciale Invest.
