Stellon Labs is an AI research lab training state-of-the-art tiny models designed to run on edge devices — smartphones, laptops, robots, and embedded systems — without compromising quality. Founded by Carnegie Mellon University AI researchers Divam Gupta and Rohan Joshi, previously of Meta Research. Their first open-source model, KittenTTS, is a sub-25MB text-to-speech model that garnered 8K GitHub stars and 45K downloads within two weeks of launch. The team is building tiny frontier models for speech, language, and video intelligence. Backed by 468 Capital, Alpen Capital, Berkeley Frontier Fund, and others. Part of Y Combinator.
