Beautiful water filters that give back.
Soma was a San Francisco-based consumer goods company founded in 2012 by Mike Del Ponte, Ido Leffler, Rohan Oza, and Zach Allia. The company designed and sold sustainable, aesthetically-driven water filtration products — primarily a plant-based compostable filter made from coconut shells and a hand-blown glass carafe — distributed via a subscription delivery model. Soma operated a 1-for-1 giving model in partnership with charity: water, donating a portion of proceeds to fund clean water projects in developing countries. The company raised a $3.7M seed round in 2013 led by Baseline Ventures and Forerunner Ventures, with backing from Tim Ferriss and others. Soma was acquired by Full Circle Home in 2017.
