Solarstic

Solarstic is a South Korean clean energy startup spun out of Hyundai Motor Group's ZER01NE in-house startup accelerator program, founded in March 2025 by CEO Park Sung-geun who spent 13 years researching solar technology at Hyundai. The company develops ultra-lightweight, design-flexible solar modules using a proprietary low-pressure polymer insert-molding process — a departure from conventional heavy tempered-glass photovoltaics — targeting two markets: Vehicle Integrated Photovoltaics (VIPV) for integration into EV hoods, bonnets, and roofs to extend driving range, and Building Applied Photovoltaics (BAPV) for lightweight installation on aging industrial rooftops without drilling. Solarstic has secured seed funding from FIND-US, 500 Global, and the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance-Infobank Value-Up Venture Fund, and is on track to begin mass production for Hyundai Motor and Kia in 2027.
