Smith-Midland Corporation manufactures precast concrete products and has operated since 1960, when David Smith founded the Smith-Cattleguard Company. It now runs three plants—in Midland, Virginia; Reidsville, North Carolina; and Hopkins, South Carolina—serving construction customers along the Eastern Seaboard. Proprietary lines include the J-J Hooks traffic barrier, Easi-Set utility buildings, and SlenderWall architectural cladding, licensed worldwide through Easi-Set Worldwide, while Concrete Safety Systems supplies rental safety barrier in the Mid-Atlantic. The company has been publicly traded since 1995.
