Small Giant Games

Small Giant Games is a Helsinki-based mobile game studio founded in 2013 by former employees of Sulake (makers of Habbo Hotel). The studio is best known for Empires & Puzzles, a match-3 puzzle RPG combining hero collection, alliance cooperation, and base building, which reached $500 million in lifetime revenue and 41 million downloads by October 2019. The studio also developed Puzzle Combat, a similar puzzle-RPG title. Small Giant operates in small, autonomous teams with minimal hierarchy, enabling fast iteration on live games. In January 2019, Zynga acquired Small Giant Games as part of its mobile gaming expansion, while the studio has continued to operate independently from its Helsinki headquarters. The company's 2023 Great Place to Work survey showed 99% of employees affirming it as a great place to work.
