Sistema.bio is a global social enterprise that empowers smallholder farmers by providing access to innovative biodigester technology, training, and financing to convert animal waste into renewable energy and organic fertilizer. Founded in 2010 in Mexico, the company now operates across 35+ countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, with over 100,000 biodigesters installed by 2024. Sistema.bio's technology enables carbon-negative, on-site waste processing that improves farm productivity, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and addresses food insecurity and poverty among the world's most vulnerable food producers. The company is a certified B Corporation and has developed carbon credit programs including FarmCarbon, backed by a $53M carbon finance facility with BNP Paribas announced in 2026.
