
Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) was an American high-performance computing manufacturer producing advanced 3D graphics workstations, servers, and visualization systems. Founded in 1982 in Mountain View, California, SGI powered Hollywood visual effects and scientific simulation before declining amid the PC workstation revolution. The company filed for bankruptcy and was ultimately acquired.
