Founded in 1989 as Software Technologies Corporation, SeeBeyond specialized in business and system integration for large enterprises. Its flagship product, the Integrated Composite Application Network Suite (ICAN), provided application-to-application integration, B2B integration, business process management, and ETL capabilities. Sun Microsystems acquired SeeBeyond in August 2005 for $387 million; the ICAN suite was renamed Sun Java Composite Application Platform Suite (Java CAPS).
