High-performance flash storage processors for solid-state drives
SandForce was an American fabless semiconductor company founded in 2006 by Alex Naqvi and Rado Danilak. The company designed flash memory controllers (SSD processors) for solid-state drives — enabling partners to build high-performance, energy-efficient SSDs. SandForce raised over $66 million in venture funding. In January 2012, SandForce was acquired by LSI Corporation for approximately $322 million. LSI was subsequently acquired by Avago Technologies in 2014, and Seagate then acquired the Flash Components Division (including SandForce) in September 2014.
