Right Media Inc. was a New York-based online advertising company that operated the Right Media Exchange (RMX), the first open online advertising marketplace enabling advertisers, publishers, and ad networks to buy and sell digital media. Founded in March 2003 by Michael Walrath, the company pioneered dynamic CPM pricing and programmatic ad buying. Yahoo! made a strategic investment in October 2006 and completed the acquisition of Right Media in July 2007 for approximately $680 million. Yahoo! ultimately shut down the Right Media Exchange in January 2015.
