Recursive self-improvement via AI for chip design
Ricursive Intelligence is a frontier AI lab building self-improving systems for chip design, founded in 2025 by Google DeepMind alumni Anna Goldie (CEO) and Azalia Mirhoseini (CTO)—the researchers behind AlphaChip. The company is developing a full-stack semiconductor design platform that uses recursive AI to automate, verify, and close silicon designs, compressing chip design cycles dramatically. Ricursive raised $335 million at a $4 billion valuation in early 2026, backed by Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with the mission to recursively accelerate progress toward artificial superintelligence by closing the loop between AI software and the hardware that fuels it.
