Research In Flight (RIF) is an aerospace engineering software company founded in Auburn, Alabama as a spin-off from Auburn University, and was acquired by Altair Engineering (NASDAQ: ALTR) in May 2024. RIF developed FlightStream, a vorticity-based, panel-method aerodynamic simulation platform used for aircraft conceptual design across subsonic to hypersonic vehicles, as well as marine, energy, and turbomachinery applications.
