Renmatix

Renmatix is a technology licensor and plant ingredient innovator that enables the low-cost production of cellulosic sugars from biomass. Its patented Plantrose process uses supercritical water as both a solvent and catalyst to break down lignocellulosic biomass—without harsh chemicals—into versatile sugars and ingredients. These outputs serve a wide range of applications including biofuels, biochemicals, skin care, and food, replacing petroleum-derived chemicals with sustainable forest-derived alternatives. Renmatix received the 2015 EPA Presidential Green Chemistry Award and has attracted investment from BASF.
