Food and drinks to go – without any packaging waste
reCup GmbH operates RECUP and REBOWL, Germany's largest reusable packaging system for the food service industry. Customers pay a small deposit (€1 for cups, €5 for bowls) when ordering drinks or food to go, then return the containers at any of ~20,000 partner locations across Germany to reclaim the deposit. Each RECUP can replace up to 1,000 single-use cups and each REBOWL up to 500 disposable units, dramatically reducing packaging waste. The company is a certified B Corporation and is expanding its system to Austria and broader Europe. RECUP partners with restaurants, cafes, and food service businesses to offer a practical circular economy solution.
