RealBlocks is a blockchain-based alternative investment platform that tokenizes real estate and private equity assets on the Ethereum network, enabling fractional ownership and broader investor access. The two-sided platform allows real estate sponsors, developers, and fund managers to raise capital through tokenized private placement offerings while giving global investors — including institutions, family offices, and individual accredited investors — the ability to purchase fractional shares using both digital and fiat currencies. The platform reduces barriers to entry in private real estate markets by improving liquidity, enhancing transparency, and lowering transaction fees compared to traditional private fund structures. RealBlocks incorporates built-in compliance technology for U.S. securities laws and international jurisdictional requirements. Founded in 2018 by CEO Perrin Quarshie, a former engineer and MIT Sloan MBA, the company raised $3.1 million in a seed round led by Science, Inc. with participation from Morgan Creek Capital, Cross Culture Ventures, and Zelkova Ventures.
