PLANTX Corporation

PLANTX Corporation (also known as Plantex) is a Tokyo-based agritech startup developing fully sealed, closed-type plant factory systems for vertical farming that control up to 28 environmental factors — including light, air, temperature, and water — to maximize crop yield, flavor, and nutritional value indoors. The company's proprietary artificial-light plant factory technology enables food production in urban environments without reliance on traditional farmland, addressing global food security challenges as rural agricultural populations decline. PLANTX has received approximately ¥1.2 billion in grants through Japan's Ministry of Agriculture SBIR program, formed a capital and business alliance with the KOBASHI Group for automation and mass production, and was selected for Tokyo's SusHi Tech Global Startups program in 2026. Its pilot facility was completed and opened in July 2026.
