Orchard (formerly Perch, rebranded January 2020) is a technology-enabled real estate platform founded in 2017 by Court Cunningham and Phil DeGisi that lets homeowners buy their next house before selling their current one. Headquartered in New York City, Orchard combines a licensed brokerage (Orchard Brokerage), an in-house mortgage lender (Orchard Home Loans), and a cash-offer marketplace to remove the stress of contingent home sales — guaranteeing sellers a backup cash offer while their home lists on the open market at true market price. The company operates in major U.S. metros including Atlanta, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, Seattle, and Tampa Bay. Orchard reached unicorn status in September 2021 after a $100 million Series D round valued the company at over $1 billion, and has raised more than $300 million in total equity funding across seven rounds from investors including Revolution Growth and Accomplice.
