nZero (formerly known through the OnDeck community) is an AI-powered energy optimization and carbon accounting platform founded in 2021. The company provides organizations with near real-time carbon management tools, enabling NGOs, government agencies, businesses, and municipalities to analyze and manage carbon emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 at a granular level using first-party data. nZero's platform includes utility data automation, peak demand management, and AI-powered retrofit planning that simulates thousands of energy retrofit scenarios. The company raised a $16 million Series A round in April 2023 led by Fifth Wall, with participation from Piedmont Capital Investments (backed by KKR co-founder Henry Kravis). nZero has aggregated over 1 billion data points across 12,000 buildings and 10,000 vehicles. It serves manufacturing facilities, commercial real estate, data centers, government agencies, and ESCOs/consultants.
