Oligomerix is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing disease-modifying, oral small molecule therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases driven by tau protein aggregation, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The company's proprietary platform targets tau self-association at the earliest step of the aggregation cascade — before misfolding and tangle formation — using a novel screening assay that identifies compounds blocking this first step. Its lead candidate, OLX-07010, successfully completed a Phase 1a clinical trial in early 2023 and is advancing toward Phase 1b, supported by NIA/NIH SBIR grants and funding from the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation.
