Norsjór AS

Norsjór is a Kristiansand start-up whose laser technology, fastened to a small robot that inches its way along the hull of a ship, destroys the thin layer of grassy organisms on the hull known as fouling. Those organisms create friction in the water, resulting in a braking effect, and fouling also diminishes the output of offshore wind turbines and wave power plants and spreads invasive species. The company took part in the Equinor and Techstars energy accelerator, a mentor programme for start-ups devoted to developing solutions that reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.
