NextGO Epi is a Berlin-based deep-tech spin-off from the Leibniz-Institut fur Kristallzuchtung (IKZ), founded in 2025 by Dr. Ta-Shun Chou, Dr. Andreas Popp, and Dr. Andreas Fiedler. The company is the only European producer of Gallium Oxide (Ga2O3) epitaxial wafers at industrial quality up to 4 inches, using proprietary Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) technology paired with an AI-powered in-situ growth monitoring system. Its epiwafers serve as the electrically active layer in power electronics applications including EV charging, renewable energy inverters, AI data centers, and missile tracking systems. NextGO Epi raised a EUR2 million pre-seed round in July 2026 backed by Vireo Ventures, Ultratech Capital Partners, and IBB.
