Founded in 2010 by Pradeep Dadha and promoted by Dadha Pharma — a Chennai-based pharmaceutical company with roots dating back to 1914 — Netmeds serves over 9 million customers and also provides generic medicine alternatives for significant cost savings. In August 2020, Reliance Retail acquired a 60% majority stake in Netmeds' parent company for approximately $83 million, integrating the platform with JioMart. The service remains operational and continues to operate under the Netmeds brand.
