Nanofiber Quantum Technologies

Nanofiber Quantum Technologies (NanoQT) is Japan's first quantum computer hardware startup, developing the infrastructure for networked and modular quantum computing through cavity quantum electrodynamics (cavity-QED) based, fiber-native interconnects. The company was founded in Tokyo and has since established a U.S. parent entity headquartered in Palo Alto, California, with additional offices in College Park, Maryland. NanoQT has developed a proprietary ultra-low-loss nanofiber cavity that enables strong atom-photon coupling — a critical requirement for high-bandwidth quantum interconnects between quantum processing units (QPUs). The technology is compatible with neutral atom QPU architectures and standard optical fiber networks, operating at room temperature. NanoQT publishes its results in arXiv and peer-reviewed journals. The company completed an $8.5M seed round in 2023 and announced a first closing of a $14M Series A in 2025 to accelerate R&D and commercialization of scalable quantum interconnects.
