Moment is a pan-African payment infrastructure company headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, with additional offices in Dubai, Johannesburg, Lagos, Kigali, and London. Originally formed as a joint venture between MultiChoice Group, UK fintech Rapyd, and General Catalyst, Moment provides omni-channel payment collection, revenue retention, and billing infrastructure to corporate and enterprise merchants across Africa, supporting cards, mobile money, real-time bank transfers, eWallets, recurring bank debits, and in-person payments through a network of more than two million physical locations. The company processes roughly 600,000 transactions a day for around 10 million people a month, serving clients that include MultiChoice and Sanlam. Moment is backed by investors including General Catalyst, Canal+, MultiChoice, AlphaCode Venture Partners, Entree Capital, the Raba Partnership, and Helios Investment Partners.
