Mirendil

Mirendil is a San Francisco-based AI research lab founded in early 2026 by former Anthropic researchers Behnam Neyshabur and Harsh Mehta, with a mission to make frontier AI research capabilities accessible beyond the largest technology companies. The company trains specialized AI models on frontier research tasks — including experimental design, hyperparameter search, model evaluation, and iterative training — and packages these as a platform that universities, hospitals, and enterprises can deploy on their own scientific problems. With a 20-person founding team drawn from Anthropic, xAI, Google DeepMind, and OpenAI, Mirendil raised $200M in seed funding at a $1B valuation co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins, with participation from NVIDIA.
