About

MindMeld (originally Expect Labs) was a conversational AI platform that enabled developers and enterprises to build deep-domain voice interfaces and chatbots with high accuracy natural language understanding. Founded in 2011 by Tim Tuttle and Moninder Jheeta in San Francisco, the platform provided functionality for every step of a modern conversational workflow — from NLU and intent classification to dialogue management and response generation. MindMeld supported use cases including food ordering, video discovery, home assistant control, and enterprise network operations. Cisco acquired MindMeld for $125 million in May 2017, integrating the technology into Cisco Webex's intelligent assistant and open-sourcing the platform in 2019 as an open-source framework on GitHub.
