Turning methane into biodegradable plastics.
Mango Materials is a San Francisco Bay Area biomanufacturing company that converts waste methane—such as biogas from wastewater treatment plants—into biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) bioplastics under its YOPP™ brand. Founded by three Stanford PhD researchers, the company aims to replace conventional petroleum-based plastics with carbon-negative, fully biodegradable alternatives that integrate into existing supply chains.
