3D Printing for the classroom and beyond
MakerBot is a Brooklyn-based 3D printer manufacturer founded in 2009 that pioneered affordable desktop 3D printing for consumers and professionals. The company helped popularize the maker movement with products like the Replicator series before being acquired by Stratasys in 2013. MakerBot later merged into UltiMaker, now operating as the MakerBot brand focused primarily on education-oriented 3D printing solutions for K-12 schools and districts. Its current product lineup includes the Sketch series printers, bundled with UltiMaker Cura slicing software and Digital Factory fleet management, designed for classroom environments.
