Livepeer is an open, decentralized network for video computing that enables AI processing and transcoding jobs to power the future of video. Founded in 2017 by Doug Petkanics and Eric Tang, Livepeer provides infrastructure for live and on-demand video streaming built on Ethereum, allowing developers to build and scale real-time video applications at a fraction of traditional costs. The network is token-incentivized via the Livepeer Token (LPT), enabling orchestrators to provide GPU compute and delegators to stake tokens in exchange for rewards.
