Life Q (LIFE QUEST Inc.) is a Japanese digital therapeutics startup that researches software medical devices and a proprietary behavioral-change engine. Its homepage states that the company develops software as a medical device to motivate people with social and psychological conditions and change their daily behavior, aiming to support the health of individuals, companies, and society. After Japan began recognizing standalone smartphone software as medical devices in 2014, Life Q began building treatment apps for mild cognitive impairment, gambling addiction, and chronic internal-medicine diseases.
