About
Lidya was a Lagos, Nigeria-based fintech lender founded in 2016 by Tunde Kehinde and Ercin Eksin, former co-founders of Jumia Nigeria. The company built a digital lending platform that used transaction data and a proprietary credit-scoring algorithm to give small and medium-sized enterprises collateral-free working-capital loans, often disbursed within 24 hours, and later expanded into Europe with offices in Prague and Warsaw. Lidya disbursed roughly $100 million in credit across more than 32,500 loans to over 220,000 registered businesses before shutting down in October 2025 after failing to secure the funding needed to continue operating.
