About
Leapfrog Nuclear is developing a new class of commercial nuclear fission reactors built around Frogspawn Fuel, a proprietary fuel invented outside the traditional nuclear establishment — not by a government lab, university, or incumbent nuclear corporation, but by an MIT-educated engineer experimenting in a friend's barn in 2023. The idea drew immediate interest from federal officials and pre-seed investors. Since then, Leapfrog has raised a pre-seed round from major VCs, built a pilot fuel manufacturing facility, developed proprietary AI engineering tools, and made significant progress on regulatory documentation for a new reactor design.
