L'école AI is a Paris and New York-based artificial intelligence company that has created ÉO, a proprietary 'machine teaching' technology that removes the engineering complexity surrounding deep-learning systems for computer vision. Founded by CEO Jonathan Alexander Brown, CTO Kim Nilsson, and President Louis-Alexandre Etezad-Heydari — a computer vision pioneer who previously co-founded Madbits (acquired by Twitter) and led Twitter Cortex — the company's platform is designed to democratize machine learning by enabling life sciences researchers, clinicians, and other non-engineering experts to create and deploy bespoke AI models tailored to their specific domain. The company raised a $3 million seed round from Sofinnova Partners in October 2023, with participation from Preston-Werner Ventures (GitHub co-founder Tom Preston-Werner's fund) and angel investors including Clément Delangue (Hugging Face CEO) and Nicolas Pinto (Apple head of Deep Learning).
