Kuapa Kokoo Limited

Kuapa Kokoo Co-operative Union Limited (KKFU) is a Fairtrade- and Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa farmers' cooperative founded in 1993 in Kumasi, Ghana. The organisation aggregates and markets cocoa on behalf of over 100,000 smallholder farmer members across Ghana's cocoa-growing regions, ensuring they receive fair prices and premium payments. Kuapa Kokoo runs sustainability programmes spanning agroforestry, climate-smart farming, and income diversification, and is executing a 2024–2029 strategic plan that includes establishing a cocoa processing company to produce cocoa butter, liquor, and powder for export. Its integrated model of farmer ownership, democratic governance, and direct access to global ethical supply chains distinguishes it as Ghana's leading farmer-led cocoa organisation.
