Founded in 2011, the company enables small and medium businesses to accept mobile payments via services such as M-Pesa, Airtel Money, and Tigo Pesa through Safaricom's Lipa Na M-Pesa till-number platform. Beyond payment acceptance, Kopo Kopo offers a Business Cash Advance (working-capital credit product), bulk-pay outbound payment tools, real-time transaction reporting via an online portal, and a mobile app for on-the-go management. The company was incorporated in the United States in 2010 and opened its Kenyan branch in 2011; it is now licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya as a Digital Credit Provider.
