Building artificial general intelligence from first principles
Keen Technologies (operating as Keen AGI) is a research-focused artificial general intelligence startup founded in 2022 by legendary software engineer and game developer John Carmack. Based in Dallas, TX with a globally distributed team, Keen is developing scalable and decentralized algorithms for real-time reinforcement learning from first principles, with a goal of demonstrating AGI signs of life by 2030. In August 2022, Keen raised $20M led by former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman and Cue co-founder Daniel Gross, with participation from Patrick Collison (Stripe), Tobi Lütke (Shopify), Sequoia Capital, and Capital Factory. Keen is partnering with Richard Sutton, principal founder of the reinforcement learning field, as chief scientific advisor.
