About

Justin.tv was a pioneering live video streaming platform founded in 2007 by Justin Kan, Emmett Shear, Michael Seibel, and Kyle Vogt. Originally conceived as a 24/7 lifecast of founder Justin Kan, the platform quickly expanded into a multi-channel network allowing anyone to broadcast live video online. In 2011, Justin.tv spun off its gaming section into Twitch.tv, which became one of the largest video platforms in the world. The parent company rebranded as Twitch Interactive in February 2014, and Justin.tv was officially shut down in August 2014. Twitch was subsequently acquired by Amazon for $970 million.
